Choosing Little Greene Paint For Your New Year Projects

The change in year tends to bring about a desire for change in our own lives, and from working in the interior design sector we know that January can get people thinking about their homes too.

A quick, easy, and relatively inexpensive way to revamp a room is switching up the paint colours. In this blog we’re going to delve into why our go-to brand of choice is always independent, British paint manufacturers Little Greene.

Little Greene insists on using only natural, organic and safe synthetic pigments while not compromising on the quality of their paint, so you know that you’re buying environmentally friendly and child-safe products that still give remarkable depth of colour and will stand the test of time.

There’s also a vast range of finishes to choose from, so whether you’re painting interior walls, woodwork, or exterior masonry, Little Greene will have the perfect solution for you.  If you’re looking for a smarter alternative to ordinary housepaints, their ‘Intelligent’ selection possesses an unrivalled reputation! These water-based paints are designed to be super hard-wearing in even the busiest areas of the house and provide a beautiful finish every time, whether you choose a classic flat matt or a dramatic high gloss.

Little Greene’s partnership with Europe’s largest conservation charity, the National Trust, allows for a fabulously unique assortment of paint colours. The trust preserves and protects hundreds of beloved places within the UK, from forests and coastlines to gardens and archeological remains. Through careful research, this collaboration allows the discovery and reformulation of original paint colours found in some of the most significant historic interiors in the country!

So when choosing Little Greene for your next project, you’ll find an eclectic array of highly pigmented colours, inspired by historic decorations, that support the National Trust’s vital work. Speaking of colours, let’s talk about some! Here’s a couple of our favourites:

Harley Green™ (312)
We of course have to mention our Milners logo colour first! This deep blue green was originally used in Wimpole Hall, the largest house in Cambridgeshire, and dates back to the early 1700’s.

Madeleine™ (338)
Taken from the Sweet Treats collection, Madeleine™ is the perfect alternative to a warm neutral. The muted gold tone will create a calm and welcoming space.

Heat™ (24)
We love the versatility of this strong burnt orange colour! It can be used as the perfect accent in lots of different schemes, and is capable of adding both fun or sophistication to a room.

Basalt® (221)
Off-blacks are great for creating impact while staying easy on the eye. This particular dark tone is a popular choice for front doors, as the natural light brings out its dramatic blue undertones.

Here at Milners we offer the full range of Little Greene paint colours and finishes, plus you will find up to date colour cards and sample pots which are perfect for guiding you in the decision making process! Just pop in store when you’re ready to choose your colours or place an order. 🧑‍🎨🎨
