Alice Tells All
By Emma">Emma / 25 November 2019 / News

As Alice leaves her teenage years behind, having turned 20 just last week, we had a chat with her about how she juggles her role here at Milners and her hectic social life! Alice is a pro at squeezing in as much as possible into her busy schedule- she works hard & plays hard! Read on to find out what the youngest member of the Milners team does with her time, experiences she has under her belt & also what she'd like to do next.

Alice is our current apprentice, finishing her Business Administration Apprenticeship in 2020. At Milners her overall responsibilities are maintaining and updating the website, our social media channels and supporting Rachael, Leonie & our customers within the Ladies & Haberdashery departments.

Alice describes herself as funny, loving, loyal, enthusiastic and clumsy. Enthusiasm is certainly something you get when you meet Alice and perhaps one of the traits that has enabled her to achieve her Gold Duke of Edinburgh, be both Treasurer & Secretary of the local Young Farmers, give tip-top service at Milners four days & Betty's once a week. When not studying & working, family & friends play a big part of Alice's life, as does the partying, party organising & bargain hunting and all with one thing in common- glitter! Alice is the queen of glitter & sequins- and she knows how to rock them!

Proudest moments so far are being awarded her GOLD Duke of Edinburgh award by The Royal Family at Buckingham Palace, successfully organising a Young Farmers Ball & Young Farmers Rally and getting towards the finishing line of Level 3, Business Administration Apprenticeship.

Apart from food & all that glitters, Alice loves cats, partying, travelling, music, history, Harry Potter & Michael Morpurgo books & films (a sucker for a really sad story!), a good period drama, festivals and musicals. Favourites on the food list is lasagne, spag bowl, chilli, digestives, cheese, salt & vinegar crisps, Caesar salad, a good brew, chocolate- pretty much anything unless it's spinach or liver!!

Alice doesn't currently consider herself hugely career driven but still manages to work like a trooper. Whilst a high-flying career isn't top of the to-do list at present, a Festival Organiser, Special Effects Make-up Artist and working as part of the film crew on a period drama all are. Also on the list, she's got travelling in America, having her own alpaca and monkey, and visiting as many historical houses and buildings as possible, four children, a walk-in wardrobe and a house. We hope to see you fulfil as many of these ambitions as possible Alice!

Before we finish, a quick Q & A with Alice.

Q: From the past or present, which 3 famous people would you like to have dinner with?

A: The Queen! I Love The Royal Family, they sacrifice so much! Michael McIntyre- he's hilarious! Harry Potter. Obviously!

Q: Any party tricks up your sleeve?

A: Apart from wearing as much glitter as possible I have been known to gulp down half a yard in 8 seconds.

Q: Favourite fairytale?

A: Cinderella at a push the best, but the middle is pretty corrupt!

Q: What's your idea of a perfect weekend?

A: 1. Lie in 2. Chill out with my family, the cats, whilst the fire's roaring, watching films 3. Go out and party with my friends.

Q: Do you consider yourself naughty or nice?

A: Nice! If someone asks me to do something, I'll do it, that's why I'm always busy!
