In September we were approached by David from the Heifer to create for them, a ‘Gin Room’, as a new addition to their wonderful array of themed guest rooms.
The brief was to transform the room completely, using Gin as the theme, to create a destination that would capture the potential guest's attention and would encourage them aspire to stay there.
Charlotte was thrilled to take on the task. “I wanted to create a room that I hope reflects the feelings, colours & styles that you may relate to gin- contemporary, retro and classic, all at the same time.”
The Villa Nova collection has all of the previously listed qualities so was the perfect brand to select from, to create the scheme- including luxurious velvets and contemporary textures.
“I drew inspiration for the colours from the wide array of Stylish gin brands. This included Tanqueray's bottle green, Hendrick's vintage blacks and the Zesty golden yellow of lemon liquors.”
Products Used in The Room
For the paintwork, we used Little Greene’s classic French Grey for the base of the room, and Sanderson’s Woodland Yellow to add a block of colour.
One wall is decorated in Cole & Sons ‘Cocktails’ wallpaper to bring a quirky fun element to the room as well as to emphasise the theme.
The curtains were made by our fantastic seamstress using fabric from Villa Nova- Monti (colour- Eden).
The throw and cushions are also made using fabric from Villa Nova- Barcelona (colours- Spruce & Plantation).
